Our story
It began with something simple:
protecting flavour.
We built STTOKE in 2018 with a single obsession brewing in our minds: how do we protect flavour?
It started with the first sip of morning coffee from our favourite café in Melbourne. The warmth settled in, the coffee came through, and suddenly, the day felt full of possibility.
It was a fleeting moment, but it meant something to us. That was the feeling we didn’t want to lose.
Around the same time, we were becoming increasingly conscious of waste. We saw bins filled with paper cups and felt the urgency to find a better way.
There had to be a way to enjoy coffee that cared as much for the experience as it did for the environment around us.

Every sip, like your first.
We didn’t want to create just any reusable cup. Our research focused on a cup that preserves flavour and feels right in your hands, the one you choose to use every day.
When we found the right ceramic technology, we knew we had found something special. A way to preserve a barista’s hard work and enjoy that morning moment a little better, a little longer.
A little pause.
A little more flavour.
Coffee is more than a drink on the way somewhere else. It is a reason to pause, to appreciate the barista’s craft, and to hold on to a quiet moment before the day begins.
Always listening. Always refining.
Building STTOKE has taught us to listen: to understand the difference between what we think people want and what they tell us they need.
Every year, we go back to the drawing board. The lid, the base, the lining, the weight in your hand, we refine them because someone in our community tells us it matters.
Coffee still gets us out of bed in the morning. So does the community that has grown around it. And so does knowing that somewhere out there, someone is having a first sip that tastes exactly as it should.
That is still the whole point. It always was.
