Single Origin Coffees | African Coffee

The coffee belt crosses through five continents, which are South America, Central America, Africa, Asia and Oceania; Thus there are many different single origin coffees available on the market. Here are some of our favorite from the South American Region:

1. Ethiopian Coffee

Ethiopia is the birthplace of coffee, and its coffees are some of the most distinctive and complex in the world. Ethiopian coffees often have fruity or floral aromas and a wide range of flavors, including citrus, berry, chocolate, and even tobacco. Ethiopia is home to a huge diversity of coffee varieties, many of which are still unknown outside the country.

2. Kenyan Coffee

Kenyan coffee is prized for its bright, acidic flavor. The country's high altitudes and rich volcanic soils produce coffees that are full-bodied and complex, with a wide range of flavors, including citrus, floral, chocolate, and spice.

3. Yemeni Coffee

Yemen is the birthplace of coffee, and it’s no surprise that its coffee has a rich history. Yemeni coffee is some of the most expensive in the world, due to its rarity.

The country has been in conflict for years, which makes it difficult to grow and harvest coffee. When you do find Yemeni coffee, you’ll notice its unique flavor. Yemeni coffee is full-bodied with a complex flavor profile. It has notes of dark chocolate, spice, and even tobacco.
